Arts and Crafts is a wonderful activity for those creative little kiddos! Does your child love to paint, create, cut, paste and colour? Then this is the class for them! Instructor Marcia hails from Mexico originally, and has a passion for all things art and craft. She will make sure there is a new and exciting project to work on each week. Students are given a lot of creative freedom when it comes to interpreting their task for the session. This is where little artists can thrive, especially good for students who like to focus in on a task and enjoy working with their hands.

Hailing from Leiden, the team at Aan Zet Chess Lessons are excited to be joining the after school activity program at ISL! Gerben and his team of professional chess players will show children all of the tips and tricks to master this age old game! Chess is proven to promote cognitive development as well as encourage confidence, respect for one another and improves memory...what's not to love? Join Luc on Monday afternoons at Chess Club this term.

A new addition to the schedule this term- Volleyball! Join George in the Gym on Monday afternoons to learn the basic skills of volleyball, let some energy out and have a blast with your friends! This team sport is a fun and energy filled way to spend your afternoons...the perfect start to the week.

Football (soccer) is returning to ISL this term and we couldn't be more glad! This term however, we are now able to offer two separate age groups, so on Mondays it is time for the little ones to play! Duco is professionally trained through Double Sports and is currently helping others to achieve their goal of becoming a sport coach. He is a fun, fair and encouraging trainer who has already successfully coached for 2 terms at the after school program. Would your child like to come and improve their skills, learn some new tricks and tactics while enjoying time with friends? Then enrol for football training! Please be aware that this class will take place outside, so a good waterproof sport jacket and sport shoes are advised.

Purely painting! Using different techniques and options such as finger painting, watercolours, sponging, stencils, stamping, on canvas and paper, you name it-we will be trying it out over 12 weeks. We will provide painting smocks, but please make sure your child comes to school in clothes that are ok to get messy on Wednesdays. Instructor Marcia will be guiding students to create masterpieces and learn all about the different ways we can use paint to express ourselves! Marcia is an art teacher who hails from Mexico and guides young artists with a flexible and encouraging approach.

Fencing teaches a wide range of skills as well as being fun and great for children who want to try their hand at something a little more unusual. As well as burning off plenty of energy and improving balance and agility, fencing uses the brain as it is a very strategic sport - almost like a physical form of chess. It teaches children discipline, safety awareness and to think for themselves. Join professional fencer George as he teaches the FairPlay attitude and builds community.The training sessions will involve learning the basic movements and skills such as fencing stance, forward step, backward lunge, and step lunge. Children can playfully develop their reflexes, which is a fundamental skill in fencing and beyond. We will provide all of the materials (we use child safe equipment of course!) and make use of a practice cushion.

In this class, students will learn basic food preparation such as hygiene, washing, peeling and chopping in a safe and supervised manner. We will create recipes using fresh ingredients and students can sample them at the end of each class! This is an engaging and yummy culinary class, where students can learn some handy tips and tricks for easy recipes that they can recreate at home. If your child suffers from any severe allergies, you must inform us before the start of the session.

Kiyana will be leading this creative and interactive activity. Dancing the afternoon away is a great way to make new friends, build confidence and release stress. Kiyana has a long history of both performing and teaching dance, and will share her passion for the art form throughout the term in an inclusive and fun environment. Different dance styles, warmups, and performance tips and tricks will be shared as well as lots of fun dance/stagecraft based games!

Quick drying clay will be used for children to create useful items such as magnets and key chains over this 12 week course. Come and join Miss Celine who will be expertly guiding kids to mould, paint and create to their hearts content! This activity is excellent for children who love sensory play, creating art and focusing in on a task. Children can paint their creations and take home their little keepsakes at the end of the term! We use a special type of clay which can be hardened in a home oven, or also wet down to be remoulded into something else.

Capoeira is a Brazilian art form which combines martial arts and dance. Brazilian native Mr. Pilao specialises in both Brazilian jiu jitsu as well as Capoeira and is thrilled to bring back his skills to ISL for another term. This class will combine both capoeira as well as elements of Jiu Jitsu. Children learn acrobatic tricks, martial arts and traditional music making in this active after school session.

Students will spend the term creating their very own puppet from recycled materials and creating their very own storyline and puppet show with the characters they create.
