A crowd favourite, Arts and Crafts is returning...This is a wonderful activity for those creative little kiddos! Does your child love to paint, create, cut, paste and colour? Then this is the class for them! Our instructor, Miss Yoko from Collectionaise has a new and exciting project to work on each week, and students are given a lot of creative freedom when it comes to interpreting their task for the session. This is where little artists can thrive, especially good for students who like to focus in on a task and enjoy working with their hands.

Fitness, friends and fun are the key themes of this after-school session. Come along to learn some new skills with our enthusiastic sports instructor Daniella, in an energising and engaging environment. All classes will be focused on physical fitness exercises and games! We will also practice various ball skills, throwing, catching and dribbling. We have all the necessary equipment to make after-school a total blast and a perfect energy outlet! This session will be outdoors, so make sure your child has a good quality rain jacket...however if days are really rainy, we will head inside for some indoor activities.

This session will encourage students to hone their fine motor skills as they thread beads, braid bracelets, decorate earrings and create their own beautiful jewellery designs amongst friends in a fun environment. We will provide all of the equipment and options, students just need to bring themselves, with creativity and a love for sparkles! As this class requires quite a lot of dexterity and extended concentration, this activity is strictly for students aged 6 and above.

We are very pleased to announce the return of Miss Yuriko's animation session! Yuriko who runs Atelier Lilico will assist the group to work as a team by drawing and designing their characters and story board, and eventually turning these ideas into short animated films! We are so looking forward to seeing what this group produces during this 13 week session. This is recommended for students who love art and drawing, and have lots of patience as animation requires a great deal of diligence.

New Session
Our new Scrapbooking Club for 9–11 year olds is a fun, creative space where kids learn basic scrapbooking techniques while expressing their ideas and memories. Each session encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence as students design pages they’ll be proud to keep and share. Students will use photographs, various print media and craft supplies to create lasting memories on paper, as well as incorporating elements of journaling. Cosy up and get creative during these cooler months with scrapbooking club!

Quick drying clay will be used for children to create useful items such as magnets and key chains over this 13 week course. Come and join Miss Yuriko who will be expertly guiding kids to mould, paint and create to their hearts content! This activity is excellent for children who love sensory play, creating art and focusing in on a task. Children can paint their creations and take home their little keepsakes at the end of the term. We use a special type of clay which can be hardened in a home oven, or also wet down to be remoulded into something else.

New Session
This playful drama class for children ages 4–7 is taught entirely in Dutch, helping young learners build language skills in a fun and natural way. Through imaginative games, movement, songs, and simple role-play, children learn Dutch vocabulary and expressions while boosting confidence, creativity, and social skills. No prior Dutch or drama experience is required—just a love of play and discovery!

This hands-on activity requires patience and practice, but is well worth all the hard work! Students learn to make beautiful products such as candles, soaps, body scrubs, room diffusers, flower arrangements, lip balms, bath bombs and other lovely home products.
This session combines science and creativity and includes lots of measuring, mixing and decorating which results in beautiful items to take home and enjoy!

Hailing from Leiden, the team at Aan Zet Chess Lessons are excited to be joining the after school activity program at ISD again! Lucca and his team of professional chess players will show children all of the tips and tricks to master this age old game! Chess is proven to promote cognitive development as well as encourage confidence, respect for one another and improves memory...what's not to love? A great session as we head into the rainy spring months!

In this class, students will learn basic food preparation such as hygiene, washing, peeling and chopping in a safe and supervised manner. We will create recipes using fresh ingredients and students can sample them at the end of each class! This is an engaging and yummy culinary class, where students can learn some handy tips and tricks for easy recipes that they can recreate at home. If your child suffers from any severe allergies, you must inform us before the start of the session.

Let your child’s curiosity come alive! Our Puzzle & Games Club is a joyful mix of brain-teasing puzzles, playful strategy games, and hands-on challenges designed especially for ages 4–7. Kids build confidence, problem-solving skills, and teamwork—all while laughing, moving, and having loads of fun. Every session feels like play, but behind the scenes little minds are growing stronger, more creative, and more resilient. It’s screen-free, friendly, and will be hosted by the wonderful Miss Pamela.

A new session added to the schedule this term for our little ones! A fun music and movement class with our native Dutch speaking performing arts instructor Kiyana. Students will sing, dance and play the afternoon away, learning traditional Dutch nursery rhymes in a laid back environment. A great start to learning Dutch and having a lot of fun at the same time!

Our amazing coach Debby who worked with the students of ISD back in 2022 and 2023 is coming back! Would your child like to come and improve their skills, learn some new tricks and tactics while enjoying time with friends? Then enrol for Football Fun! Even though we don't have a football pitch, we are still able to get together and practice football tactics, learn new passing skills and improve our game! Please be aware that this class will take place outside, so a good waterproof sport jacket and sport shoes are advised, especially in the cooler months! On very wet or stormy days, we will head inside to look at the theoretical side of the game and strategies!

Calligraphy Club with Fabi is a hands-on introduction to the art of "beautiful writing," perfect for ages 8 and up. Students will learn brush lettering basics, practice stroke control, form letters and words, and complete engaging art projects like cards and signs. Calligraphy enhances focus, fine motor skills, and creativity, offering a rewarding and lifelong creative outlet for budding young artists. Join Ms Fabi this Autumn in a creative calligraphy class on Thursday afternoons this term!

Kids, get dancing shoes on! Our Dance Mix activity is back! Join our lovely dancing queen Cleo over a 13 week course, students will move and groove the afternoons away, exploring different dance styles such as hip hop and jazz, as well as playing lots of dance based games which include loads of fitness fun! The dance routines will be set to popular age appropriate music to encourage even the most shy dancer to get up and have some fun.

Join Miss Yuriko in our Printmaking Club and explore the magic of making art with ink, texture, and imagination! Designed for ages 9–11, this hands-on club lets kids experiment with simple printmaking techniques while creating bold, colourful artwork to take home. Kids can experience projects such as mono-printing, drypoint and linocuts over the 13 week session.

Lego Club is a very popular activity at ISD. It incorporates technology and building, where Martin guides students to learn how to program their very own lego robot using the latest LegoTech equipment and Martin's tablet as a remote control. Or students can enjoy their time building their own creation as well as working with instructional sets. Martin knows all things Lego and has even worked as a Lego designer! Kids can be inspired to be creative and utilise their engineering skills in this hands on activity, all while making new friends!

Students can join Yuriko from Atelier LiliCo for a relaxing end to the week at Origami club. This beautiful, Japanese art form helps develop hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and mental concentration. Students will be expertly guided to create beautiful little Origami pieces each week in a peaceful and friendly setting. A perfect way for children to wind down after a busy week.

Good to know...
Due to scheduling conflicts, a new ruling states that on the day/days a child is attending an After School Activity at ISD, they will no longer be allowed to go onto further care at True Colors Child Care after the session.
This means that all children participating in After School Activities will always need to be picked up at the official activity end time of 4:00 on their activity day.
