A crowd favourite, Arts and Crafts is returning...This is a wonderful activity for those creative little kiddos! Does your child love to paint, create, cut, paste and colour? Then this is the class for them! Our instructor, Miss Yoko from Collectionaise has a new and exciting project to work on each week, and students are given a lot of creative freedom when it comes to interpreting their task for the session. This is where little artists can thrive, especially good for students who like to focus in on a task and enjoy working with their hands.

In this class, students will learn basic food preparation such as hygiene, washing, peeling and chopping in a safe and supervised manner. We will create recipes using fresh ingredients and students can sample them at the end of each class! This is an engaging and yummy culinary class, where students can learn some handy tips and tricks for easy recipes that they can recreate at home. If your child suffers from any severe allergies, you must inform us before the start of the session.

This session will encourage students to hone their fine motor skills as they thread beads, braid bracelets, decorate earrings and create their own beautiful jewellery designs amongst friends in a fun environment. We will provide all of the equipment and options, students just need to bring themselves, with creativity and a love for sparkles! As this class requires quite a lot of dexterity and extended concentration, this activity is for students aged 6 and above.

Students can join Fumi for a relaxing start to the week at Origami club. This beautiful, Japanese art form helps develop hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and mental concentration. Students will be expertly guided to create beautiful little Origami pieces each week in a peaceful and friendly setting. A perfect way for children to get focused and begin the week.

Lego Club is a very popular activity at ISD. It incorporates technology and building, where Martin guides students to learn how to program their very own lego robot using the latest LegoTech equipment and Martin's tablet as a remote control. Or students can enjoy their time building their own creation as well as working with instructional sets. Martin knows all things Lego and has even worked as a Lego designer! Kids can be inspired to be creative and utilise their engineering skills in this hands on activity, all while making new friends!

We will be offering four extra sessions per week for the PYP 7 students at the secondary school, starting from 21 September 2026.

We will walk students over together as a group, and facilitate the sessions with our activity leaders. This gives PYP 7 students an opportunity to experience a more challenging class content, and familiarise themselves with what secondary school life is like.
If you would like your child to participate in these sessions, it is essential to enrol via the ISSD (secondary) tab above. This enrolment day is set to open on 10 September 2026 at 10:00.

Quick drying clay will be used for children to create sweet keepsakes over this 12 week course. Come and join Miss Fumi who will be guiding kids to mould, paint and create to their hearts content! This activity is excellent for children who love sensory play, creating art and focusing in on a task. Children can paint their creations and take home their little keepsakes at the end of the term. We use a special type of clay which can be hardened in a home oven, or also wet down to be remoulded into something else.

Would your child like to come and improve their skills, learn some new tricks and tactics while enjoying time with friends? Then enrol for Football Fun! Even though we don't have a football pitch, we are still able to get together and practice football tactics, learn new passing skills and improve our game! Please be aware that this class will take place outside, so a good waterproof sport jacket and sport shoes are advised. On very wet or stormy days, we will head inside to look at the theoretical side of the game and strategies!

Hailing from Leiden, the team at Aan Zet Chess Lessons are excited to be joining the after school activity program at ISD again! Luca and his team of professional chess players will show children all of the tips and tricks to master this age old game! Chess is proven to promote cognitive development as well as encourage confidence, respect for one another and can help to improve memory...what's not to love? A great session as we head into the rainy winter months!

Kids, get your dancing shoes on! Our Dance Mix activity is back! Join our lovely dancing queen Cleo over a 12 week course, students will move and groove the afternoons away, exploring different dance styles such as hip hop and jazz, as well as playing lots of dance based games which include loads of fitness fun! The dance routines will be set to popular age appropriate music to encourage even the most shy dancer to get up and have some fun.

This hands-on activity requires patience and practice, but is well worth all the hard work! Students learn to make beautiful products such as candles, soaps, body scrubs, room diffusers, flower arrangements, lip balms, bath bombs and other lovely home products.
This session combines science and creativity and includes lots of measuring, mixing and decorating which results in beautiful items to take home and enjoy!

An introductory class for our littlest students to learn the basics and beginnings of sewing and crafting using fabrics. Children can spend their afternoon stitching and crafting with fabric to their hearts content in this session, carefully guided by the lovely Miss Pamela, and have some beautiful handmade items to take home at the end of the term! Sewing and handicrafts is excellent for improving fine motor skills , learning to focus, applying oneself and practicing patience. A new session added to the schedule this term for our little ones! A fun music and movement class with our native Dutch speaking performing arts instructor Kiyana. Students will sing, dance and play the afternoon away, learning traditional Dutch nursery rhymes in a laid back environment. A great start to learning Dutch and having a lot of fun at the same time!

Come along to play all of the coolest card games and board games such as go for 20, snakes and ladders, Cluedo, connect 4, uno and many more! This is a great class to unwind, have some fun and relax after a busy day at school. We might even play a game of Pictionary, twister or charades...the sky is the limit! This session if for students aged 6 and above.

Calligraphy and Mixed Media Lab with Fabi is a hands-on introduction to the art of "beautiful writing," perfect for ages 8 and up. Students will learn brush lettering basics, practice stroke control, form letters and words, and complete engaging art projects like cards and signs. This class combines painting, drawing and calligraphy. Calligraphy enhances focus, fine motor skills, and creativity, offering a rewarding and lifelong creative outlet for budding young artists. Join Ms Fabi this Autumn ti in a creative Media Lab/ Calligraphy class on Monday afternoons this term!

In this class, students will learn the ins and outs of the Musical Theatre world. Acting, singing and dancing the afternoon away is a great way to make new friends, build confidence and release stress. Kiddos will be singing all the way home! Hannah has a long history of both performing and directing in professional Musicals, and will share her passion for the art form throughout the term in an inclusive and fun environment. Singing techniques, and performance tips and tricks will be shared while creating a memorable choreography of a famous musical theatre piece.

Get ready to code, build, experiment, and race! In this hands-on after-school program, students will discover the exciting world of programming and robotics using the micro:bit and a CuteBot robot.
Students will learn how to program robots to perform all kinds of challenges. They can build a remote controller to drive the robot, program it to follow a route, use sensors to detect and avoid obstacles, and even compete in fun robot races!
Along the way, students will develop their programming skills using the micro:bit- a small but powerful computer that makes it easy and exciting to bring code to life. Through creative projects and challenges, they'll learn how programming works while developing problem-solving, logical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Good to know...
Due to scheduling conflicts, a new ruling states that on the day/days a child is attending an After School Activity at ISD, they will no longer be allowed to go onto further care at True Colors Child Care after the session.
This means that all children participating in After School Activities will always need to be picked up at the official activity end time of 4:00 on their activity day.
